Short biography Giuliana Vitiello graduated (summa cum laude) in Computer Science in April 1991. She received her PhD degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from University of Salerno, in 1996. She joined the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science at University of Salerno as a Researcher in July 1998. Since 2002 she is Associate Professor with the same Department, teaching courses on human-computer interaction and object oriented programming. In 2000 she was visiting researcher at Cleveland State University . She has worked on grammar specification of interactive and visual languages, on diagnosis of logic programs, on visual query languages for geographic information systems, and on software development effort prediction models. On those topics she has published several scientific papers in international journals, contributed volumes, and conference proceedings. She has served as program committee member for several international conferences. She has been program co-chair of the 2006 International Workshop on Visual Languages and Computing, and in 2002 she was program co-chair of the 14th International Conference on Software Engineering and Knowledge Engineering . She is a member of ACM SIGCHI.
