Andrea F. Abate was born in Gioia Tauro, Italy, in 1963. He received the Laurea degree (cum laude) in Computer Science from the University of Salerno, Italy, in 1991 and the Ph.D. degree in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1998.
He is currently an Associate Professor of Computer Science at the University of Salerno.
His research interests include Computer Graphics, Virtual Reality Interaction, Indexing, Multimedia Databases and Biometrics.
